CREATIVE AND RESPONSIBLE ENVIRONMENT WARRIORS

2023-2026

Day 4 (October 23rd)

We started the day with visiting the mini – hydric plant located near Campo Maior. There we learnt about the production of clean energy and management of water supply. Later on we had a tour of the castle in Campo Maior. In the afternoon we visited two places that Campo Maior takes pride in. One related to wine, the other one to coffee. The visit to the winery in Adega Maior – the first custom-built winery in Portugal, gave us a chance to discover the history and the unique story behind Mayores wines. The interactive Coffee Centre Museum (Centro de Ciência do Café) showed us the process of coffee production starting from growing and ending with the process of roasting it. We also learnt about the dangers that coffee plants are facing. Both visits vastly enriched our knowledge about these two products that are so important for the region of Alentejo and Portugal.
