Thursday was an important working day for the project as all the activities started on Monday and Tuesday were to be completed. In the morning all 5 groups were working on the virtual boards using the Padlet tool. First they had to do necessary calculations to accomplish the tasks assigned during the trip to the forests in Janów Lubelski. To do that, the participants used the measurements they had taken beforehand. On the virtual boards they uploaded the results of calculations as well as the pictures of their groups documenting the tasks while they were being done in the forest. It was also the day of competitions. The first one was the International Apps Contest in which students did quizzes on natural sciences, maths, geography and ecology. The quizzes were created in different apps and it was the students from our partner schools who made them the previous year. The student who scored the highest number of points overall was Amanda Chmielowiec from Poland. Another competition that was held on that day was Rummikub Contest, for which students were preparing on Monday. Each group selected four players who had mastered the rules of the game best and then the four winners from the first stage of the competition competed in the final. Four students from the Polish school, who are judges on professional Rummikub tournaments, made sure that the game is played correctly. The winner of the entire Rummikub tournament was Matilde Rana from Portugal.
While students were working on creating virtual boards, the teachers were having a working meeting during which a number of project related issues were tackled. After the students and teachers completed their work, everyone met in the school gym where they were all invited to perform polonaise – a Polish national dance, together with other students from the school. The ballroom dance was followed by a less formal Belgian dance that is very popular in Poland. It was an interesting and fun experience for both project participants and the school community members who could mingle with the guests from other countries and feel the spirit of unity in this joint venture.
Thursday evening was the time of the summary of the mobility and the whole project. After the mobility participation and competition certificates had been handed in by the headmaster of Zespół Szkół nr 1 w Kraśniku – Mr Grzegorz Przywara, the virtual boards in padlet displayed and thanks exchanged, everyone was invited to dinner offered by the school. Afterwards the informal part started – karaoke, followed by an unforgettable disco. It’s undoubtedly a night to remember…
