Our project is inevitably coming to an end and the last mobility has just been completed.
On 24th May 2026, 28 students and 11 teachers arrived in Poland to be hosted by a Polish team of students and teachers from Zespół Szkół nr 1 w Kraśniku. During a week from 25th to 29th May the group was involved in a number of activities with the aim of completing the goals of the project. On Monday, 25th May the group was officially welcomed by the school headmaster – Mr Grzegorz Przywara and the chairman of the district council – Mr Jacek Dubiel – a representative the town authorities. After the plan of the mobility, the aims and expectations were introduced, the students from the 6 partner schools presented the scientists from their countries who had a significant influence on the world science. Polish students also presented their region. After a short tour of the school, students started working in international groups.
As the leading theme of the mobility was ‘maths in nature’, it was important to introduce vocabulary from these two fields at the start of the session. To make it easier, environmental dictionaries created in cooperation with all the partners were used as well as the Quizlet app to help the students learn and consolidate the vocabulary.
Another product created just before the visit to Poland was a maths workbook compiled by a team of pupils and teachers from the partner schools. During the meeting in Kraśnik, the students were able to test a section of it – the chapter on games, which had been created by the Czech team. The participants also played other maths and logic games, which provided an excellent opportunity to break the ice and get to know one another within their groups. The game Rummikub aroused particular interest and excitement. The organisers ensured that participants were thoroughly familiar with the rules, and the team of Polish students supported the players throughout, making sure they adhered to the rules of the game.
After lunch in a local restaurant the group was given a guided tour by a history teacher – Ms Izabela Dekiel during which they found out about the history of the town. The group also visited he Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Museum of the 24th Cavalry Regiment where they learnt about the importance of the regiment in the history of WW II on international level. The day ended with a common supper during which the participants had a chance to socialize and get to know each other better in an informal situation.
