This workbook is a collaborative endeavour of 6 partners in an Erasmus+ project. It comprises a set of good practices employed in our partner schools, by which we show that daily problems can be easily turned into maths problems. It offers the ideas to be shared with other educators as a means of encouraging teenagers to use maths in a practical context. Teenagers who undermine the usefulness of mathematics and consider it a complicated, abstract language, may get convinced that although mathematics may be hard, giving the effort to learn it pays off in the long run. The students and teachers of “THE CREW” have taken an adventure to explore maths in a chosen field of study (Maths in Agriculture, Maths in Alimentation, Maths in Ecology, Maths in Fishing and Navigation, Maths for Fun and Logical Thinking, Maths in the Natural Environment and Sport) and prove that maths calculations are crucial in all areas of life and help to find most economical and environmentally – friendly solutions.
